I’ve been on a Craftster kick lately and today I came across this gem. It’s a “Victorian meets Glam Rock” Macbook case. OMGLOLYAY don’t you love it? It was handcrafted by a woman in Florida. And you can see the evolution of this laptop case at Crafter.org.

Neato: The Nokia Ovi Store

ovistore

Let’s welcome the latest applications hub for smart phones. The Nokia Ovi Store is up and running and it’s not bad. Obviously, the iPhone App Store is sets the bar for all other marketplaces, so we can’t do that comparison. The Ovi store seems like it’s best for people who are still faithful to adorable designs rather than sleek interfaces. For instance, I miss my old Nokia 7360 (the Bella Swan phone that was used in Twilight), which I traded in for an iPhone 3G  last year. Ed. Note: The Nokia 7360 is only available in Europe and Asia.

Gorgeous Design!

Gorgeous Design!

But, let’s not cry over spilled milk. The new generation of smart phones requires the proper bells and whistles. I thought that I would mix it up, though and decided to select the 7360, to see what was available for non-smart phones. And here’s what I got.

REVIEW: “Star Trek” By Lance Parton

Warp Speed Ahead

The final frontier returns with a vengeance as Star Trek 2009 has done what I thought was impossible to do breathe new life into what could be considered a dead franchise.  JJ Abrams (Alias, Lost) vision of the Federation, Starfleet and the Enterprise brings a fresh concept  to a new audience and at the same time maintains a status quo of the characters that fans of the story have come to expect.  The updates to the ship blend elements from the series Enterprise and Battlestar Galactica to make it look and feel more realistic (for fantasy), flashier and pretty damn cool.  For all intents and purposes here Trek 11 is a prequel exploring the genesis of the beloved characters that Gene Rodenberry introduced to audiences some 40 years ago.

Totally Gratuitous Pics of Zachary Quinto

Welcome to my newest celebrity crush! Yeah, sure, Zachary Quinto has been around as Sylar for a few years now, but it always felt so wrong to crush on the villain in Heroes. But after watching Star Trek…oy! And after reading ZQ’s blog, I’m convinced that his career needs to skyrocket. I’ve said this before, but I would love to see him playing as the romantic lead in a drama. Hopefully, the buzz from Star Trek is only the beginning for ZQ. He’s so awesome. So, here for all of you ZQ fans.

Of Course I Love Free!

I wish he had a cute outfit like this in the game!

While browsing the Internet I stumbled upon jimprice.com. Jim is a regular Software Engineer from Texas who has posted games on his site. Free games like Space Invaders and Asteroids.

Although those games are classic, I’m keen on Tux on the Run. It’s like Super Mario Brothers, expect Tux has no brother and he’s a penguin.

Say Farewell to Battlestar Galactica with Me

For a only a couple of months now, I’ve had the pleasure of covering Battlestar Galactica for The Remote IslandNerve.com’s TV blog. I’ve written my final wrap-up of the show tonight and will post the links below. I only wish that I had been able to cover the entire series and pray that another show will come along to fill the giant, intergalactic boots left behind by BSG.

“Battlestar Galactica” Finale Recap: Galactica Sails Into The Sun(set) – Daybreak: Part 2

“Battlestar Galactica” Breaks Hearts, Kicks Asses - Daybreak: Part 1

“Battlestar Galactica”: Everybody — No, Really, EVERYBODY — Hurts – Islanded in a Stream of Stars

“Battlestar Galactica” Is Driving Us To Drink – Someone to Watch Over Me

“Battlestar Galactica” Kinda Gives Us Blue Balls – Deadlock

Breathless “Battlestar Galactica” Gives Us An Expository Orgasm – No Exit

It was so difficult for me to do a final wrap-up because I’m sort of in denial that the show is over. I did, however, want to add a few personal notes here about our incredible journey with the show from Caprica to Earth. If you haven’t seen the finale, there are spoilers after the jump.

Nintendo Toaster…Homage to BSG?

Okay, so I’m still in full Battlestar Galactica obsession/mourning mode. When I saw this it made me think of BSG toasters right away. It’s the Super Nintoaster: one part Super Nintendo, one part toaster. You can read more at Engaget.
