Flower Pot Gadget Charging Solar Thing

Check out this conceptual design. It’s from designer Mac Funamizu and it’s a flower pot with green leaves that are solar panels. It’s so gorgeous! Sadly, it’s only a concept. We hope this sees the light of day, eventually (pun totally intended). Read more about it here.

California Academy of Science

Totally Cute Solar Cells

I never had a problem with the way solar cells looked, but this is a welcome addition to the green family.  Sony presented a Hana Akari lamp that produces solar power.  It is supposedly cheaper and more efficient because of the dye-sensitized solar cells doo-hickey-thing.  There is no release date, as of yet, but I’m excited to see more.
